The Democratically controlled congress swooped into Washington in 2006 promising change. So far what they have accomplished is to bash Bush and his backers. And any resolution passed has been on a non-binding basis. Effectively Pelosi and Reid cannot lead, nor follow in any situation. The movement that is the radical left is leading this congress and they too are just as bankrupt on a vision and passing legislation. This is good news to the average American. It's good news to Republicans. I can just imagine sitting on the house or senate floors watching the spectacle they call Democrats taking the lead. However, there is a downside to not accomplishing anything and that is a budget has yet to be passed. The end of the Federal fiscal year is approaching (October 1) and without a budget signed by the evil President Bush the government will shut down. All non-essential Federal employees will be asked to stay home until there is money for them to come to work.
As of yet I haven't heard anything in the mainstream media speaking on this subject. Apparently having just under a month is enough time to get the job done. Disregard that fact that this congress has had almost a year to get things done. The Pelosi/Reid leadership cannot get enough votes to pass the simple measures and have been concentrating on the war in Iraq and how to foil President Bush without defunding the war. Still, the fact remains, nothing is getting done.
And don't be surprised if the Democrats blame the shut down on Bush. In all honesty he is the one who has spent this time concentrating on war issues and not the rest of the country's business. NOT!
